About The Old Post Office Residential Home
The Old Post Office Residential Home is in Stafford, and we offer residential care to adults with a broad range of needs across Staffordshire. Older people live here, as do adults with learning disabilities and autism, people living with mental ill health, residents with physical disabilities or sensory loss, and younger adults. Several of those who live with us are living with dementia. Running a home with that range of people takes flexibility rather than a single system applied to everyone. What we hold in common is straightforward: nobody should have to fit themselves around the building. Meals, routines, help with washing and dressing, going out, staying in, visitors at odd hours. All of it works better when it follows the person. We are a home rather than an institution, and we would like it to feel that way from the front door. The kitchen matters, the garden matters, and so does whether someone can find a quiet spot when the house is busy. Short respite stays are also available, either as a planned break for families or as a way of getting to know us before deciding on anything longer. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased with that, but the more useful test is what residents say about an ordinary Tuesday, so please visit and ask them as well as us.
