About Penleigh House

We are a residential care home in South Gloucestershire supporting adults with a range of needs. The people who live here include older people, younger adults, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing. Supporting that mix means paying attention to individuals rather than to categories. Some of the people here need a good deal of help with personal care, medication and moving about. Others need much less of that and a great deal more support with everything else: keeping to arrangements, managing money, getting out, handling the things that cause anxiety and having staff who know when to step in and when to leave well alone. So we start from what somebody wants their life to look like. People keep their own rooms and belongings, have a real say in how the house runs and choose how much they join in. Where consistency and routine matter, as they often do for autistic people, we keep staffing as settled as we can and explain changes before they happen. Respite stays are available as well as longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place for yourself or someone in your family, please come and visit and ask us whatever you need to.
