About Cherry Tree House

Cherry Tree House is a residential care home in the Bristol area. We support adults, including younger adults, who have a learning disability or autism and people living with mental ill health, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. This is people's home, and it should run like one. Everyone here has their own room and their own belongings, and there is real choice about the ordinary things, what goes on the shopping list, what is for tea, how the day is spent and who comes into your room. Where a decision is genuinely difficult, our job is to help somebody make it rather than to make it for them. Our team takes time to learn how each person communicates and what they are telling us, including when words are not involved. When somebody is struggling we look for the cause rather than reaching for a label, and we plan ahead with them, in calm moments, about what helps. We work alongside community mental health teams, GPs, social workers and families and we keep everyone informed. We also support people to hold onto what makes life theirs, whether that is work, college, a club, a faith community or regular time with family. Bristol has plenty going on and we make use of it. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. Please visit, meet the team and talk to the people who live here.
