About The Rectory Care Home
The Rectory Care Home is a residential care home in Taunton, providing a settled home for older people who would rather not manage on their own any longer. Our residents come to us for different reasons. For some, the house had become too much. For others, a fall or an illness changed what was possible. Whatever brings someone here, our aim is the same, which is that they should feel this is their home and not somewhere they are merely staying. Residents keep their own routines, furnish their rooms with things that matter to them, and decide how they spend their days. We support people with personal care, mobility and medication, and we care for a number of residents living with dementia. There we rely on patience, continuity and knowing people well. A member of staff who remembers that someone taught for thirty years, or that they always walked the dog before breakfast, can steady a difficult moment far better than any intervention. We also offer respite stays for families who need a break or for people who need support for a while after being unwell. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are glad of that, though the measure that matters more to us is what residents and their relatives tell us week to week. You would be very welcome to visit. Ring us, come and see The Rectory, meet the staff and ask whatever you want to ask.
