About Bridge House ()
At Bridge House in Taunton, Somerset, we support adults with learning disabilities and autism, as well as younger adults who need a little more help to live well day to day. We are a residential care home, and the people who live with us are at the heart of everything we do here. We know that moving into a care home is a significant step, and we take that seriously. Our aim is for Bridge House to feel like a genuine home, not an institution. We want the people we support to feel comfortable, respected and heard, and we work hard to make sure that daily life here reflects each person's own preferences, routines and interests rather than ours. Supporting people with learning disabilities and autism means understanding that no two people are the same. Some of the people we care for communicate differently, experience the world differently, or need support that is carefully tailored and consistent. Our team takes the time to get to know each individual properly, building trust and understanding over time rather than making assumptions. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us as good. That matters to us, not as something to boast about, but because it reflects the kind of care we genuinely try to provide every single day. We are always looking at what we can do better, and we welcome feedback from the people we support and their families as part of that. If you are considering Bridge House for yourself or someone you care about, we would encourage you to come and visit us. There is no substitute for seeing a place for yourself and having a proper conversation. We are based in Taunton and are always happy to talk things through with you.
