Here at Street Farm, we are a residential care home nestled in the heart of Cheddar, Somerset, and we take real pride in the community we have built here. We support adults across a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and we also offer respite care for those who need shorter term support. Many of the people we care for are younger adults, and we work hard to make sure that life here feels full, purposeful, and genuinely their own. We were rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, and while we are pleased with that recognition, what matters most to us is what the people living here and their families actually experience day to day. We believe good care comes from truly knowing someone, understanding what makes them comfortable, what they enjoy, what they find difficult, and building support around that rather than fitting people into a routine that suits us. Cheddar is a wonderful place to be based. The village and surrounding area give us so much to draw on, from local walks and community events to the simple pleasure of being somewhere that feels like home rather than an institution. We encourage everyone here to stay connected to the wider world in whatever way feels right for them. Our team works closely together and with the people we support, their families, and other professionals to make sure care plans genuinely reflect individual needs and are reviewed and updated regularly. We are straightforward and honest in how we communicate, and we welcome families to be as involved as they wish to be.
