About Alexandra House
At Alexandra House, we provide a warm and supportive home for older adults in the heart of Ludlow, Shropshire. We are proud to have received a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine effort our team puts into the lives of every person who lives with us. We offer residential care, dementia care, and support for people living with physical disabilities or visual and hearing impairments. We also welcome those who need a short respite stay, whether to give family carers a much needed break or to allow someone time to recover and recharge. Whatever brings someone to our door, we do our best to make them feel at home from the moment they arrive. Dementia care is something we take particularly seriously. We understand how disorienting and unsettling a change of environment can be for someone living with dementia, so we focus on building familiar routines, maintaining meaningful connections, and creating a calm and reassuring atmosphere throughout the home. For residents with physical disabilities or sensory impairments, we work closely with each person to understand what they need to live as independently and comfortably as possible. We do not believe in a one size fits all approach. Every individual has their own history, preferences, and ways of doing things, and we try to honour that. Ludlow is a wonderful town and we enjoy being part of its community. Our residents are encouraged to stay connected to the things that matter to them, whether that is local outings, visits from family and friends, or simply a quiet afternoon doing something they love. If you are considering Alexandra House for yourself or someone close to you, we would genuinely welcome the chance to show you around and answer any questions you might have.
