About Rosebank Care Home
We are Rosebank Care Home in Southport, in the borough of Sefton, a residential care home supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. We provide permanent places and respite stays. A home for a small number of people allows support to be genuinely individual rather than a compromise between competing demands, which is the main reason we work as we do. Staff here know everybody properly, including the things that never appear in a care plan, such as which sounds are intolerable on a difficult day and which subject will always lift a mood. We treat autism as something that shapes how a person experiences the place they live rather than as a line at the top of a file. Predictability matters. The sensory environment matters. Being told what is going to happen and finding that it is true matters more than reassurance does. When those things are wrong, nothing else we do makes up for it. People here make their own choices and do as much for themselves as they can, with help offered rather than assumed. Families and advocates are involved to whatever degree the person wants, and respite guests visit first where possible so that arriving is familiar. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
