Here at Poplars Resource Centre in Southport, we provide residential care for younger adults with learning disabilities and autism. We are part of Sefton New Directions, and our work is grounded in a genuine commitment to supporting each person who lives with us to lead a fulfilling, meaningful life on their own terms. We understand that moving into a care home, or choosing respite care, is a significant step for both the individual and their family. That is why we take the time to get to know each person properly, not just their care needs, but their personality, their interests, their routines, and what matters most to them day to day. We believe that good support looks different for everyone, and we work hard to make sure our approach reflects that. Many of the people we support thrive with familiar faces and predictable environments, so we work thoughtfully to create a settled, comfortable atmosphere where people feel safe and at home. We also offer respite care, which gives families and carers the reassurance that their loved one is in a place where they are genuinely looked after and where routines and preferences are respected, even during a short stay. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as good, and we see that as a reflection of the everyday effort our staff put in rather than something to simply display. We are always looking at how we can do better and improve the experience for the people in our care.
