About Cambridge Road
Cambridge Road is a small residential care home in Liverpool, in the Sefton area, supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and younger adults. We also support people managing mental ill health, adults with physical disabilities and those with a visual or hearing impairment. The house is small on purpose. Everyone who lives here is known individually, and staff notice quickly when somebody is not themselves. People keep their own belongings, decide how their room looks, choose what they eat and how they spend a weekend, and get on with life in the ordinary way anybody else would. Support is built around the individual. For some people that means practical help with personal care, medication and appointments. For others it is mainly about structure and confidence, and having somebody reliable close by while they do things for themselves, whether that is cooking, managing money or getting across town on the bus. We take communication seriously. Some people here use speech, others use signs, symbols or their own established ways of making themselves understood, and learning those is our job. Routines stay predictable, change is flagged well in advance, and we act early when the signs suggest a day is going wrong. Being part of the local area matters, so people use shops, clubs and groups nearby and see family as often as they want to. Respite stays are available too. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Anyone considering a placement is welcome to visit.
