About Marling Court
Marling Court is a residential care home in Hampton. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia, along with respite and short stays. We aim to run a household rather than a facility. Residents bring their own furniture and photographs, keep the routines they have always had and decide for themselves how much they want to be part of what is going on. Nobody is marched off to an activity they have not chosen. When somebody moves in we spend real time on their history and preferences, from what time they wake and how they take their tea to the work they did and the people who matter to them. It is written down so that everybody working here knows it, because care that changes with whoever is on shift is not care we would accept for our own families. Dementia support rests on familiarity and pace. We keep staffing as consistent as we can, avoid unnecessary change and work out what settles a particular resident, since it is rarely the same for two people. Families get honest updates from us rather than comfortable ones. Meals are cooked on the premises and residents have a genuine say in the menu. Visitors are welcome through the day and can stay for a meal if the kitchen knows in advance. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and look round whenever suits you.
