About Vincent House

Vincent House is a residential care home supporting adults who have a learning disability and adults who are autistic. We are a small household rather than an institution, and the people who live here have a genuine say in how it runs. Support is worked out individually. Some people need help with personal care and everyday tasks, some want assistance with cooking, shopping, money and appointments, and some mainly want reliable people around while they get on with work, college, clubs or seeing friends. We aim to provide what is wanted and no more. For autistic people, much comes down to predictability and clear communication. We give notice before anything changes, we keep shared spaces manageable when it comes to noise and comings and goings, and we take trouble to learn how each person prefers to receive information. If somebody becomes distressed, we look for the cause rather than simply managing the outcome. Respite stays are available too, giving families a planned break and giving a person the chance to get to know us gradually. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families in the Stockton on Tees and Redcar area are welcome to visit. Please contact us.
