About Rosewood Lodge
We are Rosewood Lodge, a residential care home in Ilford. We care for older people, including people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people managing a mental health condition. With that mix of people under one roof, a single routine would suit nobody, so we do not run one. People get up when they are ready, eat what appeals to them and spend their days as they choose. What stays constant is that staff are about, and that they know the people here well enough to notice when somebody is struggling with something they would not put into words. For residents living with dementia, we work with their history rather than against their confusion. Knowing the work somebody did, the family they raised and the music that still reaches them is worth more than any activity timetable. Support plans are written with the person and with anyone they want involved, and they are reviewed when circumstances change rather than at set intervals. Where somebody wants to take on more for themselves, we build it up at their pace. We work closely with families, social workers, GPs and community mental health teams, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
