About Maple House
Maple House is a residential care home in Ilford supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults who need care and support through the day and night. We run this as somebody's home and not as a unit. Everybody has their own room and their own possessions, and the shape of the day belongs to the people who live here. Support is agreed with the person and with those who know them best, and it ranges from full help with personal care through to prompting and encouragement while somebody does things for themselves. Communication is at the centre of the work. We take time to learn how each person makes themselves understood, what settles them, what unsettles them and what they are telling us through their behaviour. What we learn is written down and shared, so that the whole team supports somebody in the same way rather than each person improvising. People are supported to get out into Ilford and the wider area, to keep up activities and interests, to attend appointments and to see family and friends. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement for somebody, please contact us. We will assess carefully and tell you honestly if we are not the right service.
