About Eden Supported Services
Eden is a care home in Ilford. We provide residential care for adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment and people managing a mental health condition, mostly younger adults. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Supporting people with both a learning disability and a sensory impairment asks for particular care. Where somebody cannot see or hear well, the usual ways of explaining what is about to happen do not work, and the world becomes unpredictable in a way that is frightening rather than simply inconvenient. We spend real time on communication, using touch, objects, signing or whatever fits the individual, and we never take a lack of response for a lack of understanding. Everyone here has a say in the ordinary decisions: what is bought and cooked, how their room looks, where they go and who visits. Where somebody is working towards more independence, we put proper effort behind it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families and social workers considering a placement are welcome to visit, meet the people living here and ask whatever matters to them.
