About Featherton House
Featherton House is a residential care home in Banbury, Oxfordshire, caring for older people. We do one thing and we try to do it properly. Residential care for older people who can no longer manage at home, in a house where the day belongs to the people living in it. Nobody is woken to suit a rota. Meals are unhurried and worth turning up for. Help with washing and dressing is given in a way that protects a person's dignity, which in practice means asking before acting, explaining what we are doing, and leaving people to do for themselves whatever they still can. We also take seriously the parts of the day that are not care tasks at all. Company when it is wanted and solitude when it is not. Visitors welcomed at hours that suit them rather than us. Conversations that have nothing to do with anybody's health. Those things are what a person actually lives in. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places, whether to support somebody through a short period of need or to give a family carer a planned break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit.
