About Rose Farm

We are Rose Farm, a residential care home near Doncaster. We care for older people and younger adults, and many of the people living with us are living with dementia. We have tried to keep the feel of a house rather than an institution. People bring their own furniture and pictures, come down when they wake rather than when a rota says so, and fill the day as they please. Some like the sitting room and the conversation that goes with it, others prefer their own room with the radio on, and neither needs explaining. Dementia care takes patience and it takes knowing the person, so we spend time learning about the work somebody did, the family they raised and the routines that steady them. We do not argue about what year it is or where somebody believes they are going. We meet people where they are and find something good to do together there. Our staff know residents well enough to spot when somebody is eating less or simply not themselves, and we ring families early rather than waiting for a review. Visitors are welcome whenever they want to come. We work with GPs, district nurses and social workers where they are involved, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
