About Valley Road - Resource Centre
Valley Road Resource Centre is a care home in Northallerton, and we have been a familiar part of North Yorkshire life for many years. We provide residential care for adults with a wide range of needs, including people with learning disabilities and autism, people living with mental ill health, adults with physical disabilities and those with sight or hearing loss. Some of the people we support are in later life and some are much younger, and we like that the house holds both. Our starting point is always the person rather than the diagnosis. Some people who live here want a busy week with plenty going on outside the building; others prefer a quiet, predictable rhythm and a small number of faces they trust. Both are perfectly reasonable, and our job is to make each one possible rather than to push everyone towards the middle. Being in the middle of Northallerton helps. Shops, the market, cafes and the station are all near enough that going out does not have to be an expedition, and family and friends can drop in without a long journey. We also offer respite stays, which can be a lifeline for carers at home and a good way for someone to get to know us before making a bigger decision. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to see the place for yourself, you are welcome to visit and talk to us about what you need.
