About The Crest Care Home
The Crest Care Home is in Harrogate, and we support older people who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia and those living with mental ill health, along with people with physical disabilities and younger adults. Respite stays are available as well. A household this varied only works if people are treated as individuals rather than as categories, and that is genuinely how we run the place. Support is agreed with the person, written in terms they recognise, and reviewed as things change. Some residents need a great deal of hands on help with washing, dressing, medication and mobility. Others mainly want stability, company when they choose it, and a household that holds together through a difficult week. For residents living with dementia we keep routines and surroundings familiar and give people time instead of hurrying them along. For those living with mental ill health the valuable thing is usually steadiness: a team who know them and no drama when a bad stretch comes. For residents with physical disabilities the emphasis is on equipment that fits and transfers handled safely and without embarrassment. We would far rather hear about a small problem early than a large one later, so families who tell us when something is not right are doing us a favour. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You are welcome to visit on an ordinary day and take your time deciding.
