About Brackenley
We are a residential care home in Harrogate, and the people who live with us have a wide range of needs. That breadth is something we have grown into rather than advertised, and it means we are used to working out what a particular person requires instead of fitting everyone to the same pattern. We support older people who need help with personal care, mobility and everyday life, and we care for people living with dementia, where familiar staff and unhurried routines do more good than anything else. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and younger adults whose needs are better met in a smaller household. We also support people living with mental health needs, people living with an eating disorder, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment, paying attention to how each person communicates and what helps them feel settled. Respite stays are available, whether to give a family carer a real break or to let someone get used to us gradually. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking residents and relatives what could be better, because the most useful feedback rarely turns up on an inspection day. If you would like to look round and talk through whether we could meet someone's needs, please get in touch.
