About Eden House
Eden House is a residential care home in Filey supporting a mixed group of adults. Some of our residents are older people who need help with daily life; others are adults with a learning disability, autistic adults or younger adults who want support to run their own lives. We plan support one person at a time rather than putting everybody through the same routine. For one resident that may mean help to wash and dress and then to be left alone with the radio on. For another it may mean staff alongside them cooking, going out into the town, getting to an appointment or sorting out a problem. We pay attention to how each person communicates, what they find difficult and what helps them settle, and we build the plan with them and with the people who know them well. Our staff are trained in communication and in supporting somebody who is distressed. Everyday life includes cooking, shopping, keeping your own room how you like it and choosing how to spend the day. Being near the sea means getting out for some air and a walk along the front is part of normal life here rather than an occasion. Respite stays are available and give family carers a real break while the person has a proper stay with us. Visitors are welcome. Please ring us if you would like to come and look round.
