About St Annes Care Home
We are St Annes Care Home in Whitley Bay. We provide residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we take respite bookings for shorter stays. We have kept our focus clear rather than trying to be all things to everyone. Residential care for older people is what we do, and dementia care is a large part of it. Doing that well depends on knowing each person properly: their history, the work they did, the family names, the things that comfort them and the things that reliably unsettle them. Staff who carry that knowledge are the ones who can head off distress before it takes hold, and who notice quickly when somebody is unwell. Beyond that, much of what makes a day here good is quite unremarkable. A decent breakfast at a time that suits you. Your own chair and your own belongings. Company if you want it and quiet if you would rather, and somebody with the time to sit down and properly listen. We also support people to keep up the connections they already have locally, and the coast is on the doorstep. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us and come and see the home.
