About Lenore Care Home
Lenore Care Home is a residential home in Whitley Bay, supporting older people and younger adults, including people with a learning disability, people who are autistic, people living with mental health conditions, and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also support people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug misuse. The people who live with us have arrived by very different routes, and we have learned not to make assumptions about what anyone needs. We start by listening, we agree a plan with the person, and we revisit it as often as we need to. Independence is not a slogan here. If someone can make their own breakfast, manage their own money, or come and go as they please, our job is to protect that rather than tidy it away. Whitley Bay is a good place to be part of, and we encourage people to use it, whether that is the seafront, the shops, a local group, or a job or course that matters to them. Keeping those connections alive is usually what makes a placement work. Families and friends are welcome, and we keep them informed with the person's agreement. We also provide respite stays, which can help when a family carer needs a break or when someone wants to try us out before making a longer commitment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
