About The Chestnuts
Here at The Chestnuts, we provide residential care for people in the heart of Rushden, North Northamptonshire. We support younger adults, including those living with a learning disability or autism, and we also offer respite care for those who need a short break or a period of planned support away from home. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. Our aim is to create a home that genuinely feels like one, where the people we support have a real say in how their day looks and where their individual needs, preferences and routines are respected. Supporting people with a learning disability or autism requires a thoughtful and consistent approach. We work to understand each person as an individual, taking the time to learn what matters to them, what they enjoy and how they communicate best. Whether someone is with us long term or joining us for a short respite stay, we want them to feel settled, safe and valued from the moment they arrive. We are open about the fact that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection resulted in a "requires improvement" rating. We took that feedback seriously and have been working through the areas identified to make meaningful changes. We are committed to being honest with the people we support and their families, and to keeping them informed about the progress we are making. If you would like to find out more about The Chestnuts, or if you are considering whether we might be the right fit for yourself or someone you care for, we would genuinely welcome the chance to have a conversation. Please do not hesitate to get in touch.
