About Agape Annexe
Agape Annexe is a small residential home in Kettering supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, including younger adults moving into a home of their own for the first time. We also offer respite stays, planned in advance so that a short stay is a visit somewhere familiar. We run the house as the residents' home rather than as our workplace. People choose how their bedrooms look, have a real say in the meals and the shopping, and get involved in cooking, laundry and looking after the place as much as they want to. Support covers personal care where it is needed, medication, health appointments and managing money, and it covers getting out to the things people care about, whether that is a job, a course, a gym, a club or seeing family. We pay close attention to how each person communicates and to what makes a day feel manageable. Predictable routines, clear information given in good time, and staff who understand somebody's particular sensitivities all make a genuine difference, so we get those details right and record what works. Where somebody becomes distressed we look at why rather than simply managing the behaviour. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families, social workers and health colleagues are welcome to visit.
