About Lincolnshire House Association
Lincolnshire House Association is a residential care home in Scunthorpe. We support adults with physical disabilities and we offer respite stays. Most of the people who live here have needed to think hard about practical detail for a long time, and they know far more about what works for them than we do. So we start there. How somebody prefers to be helped with transfers, which equipment suits them, how their room needs to be arranged, what they can manage independently and what they would rather have help with. It goes into their plan and our staff follow it rather than improvising. The house is arranged so that people can move about it safely and independently, and our staff are trained in moving and handling and in using the equipment people rely on. Getting that right is not a technicality. It is the difference between somebody being able to get up and out when they choose and having to wait for permission. Beyond that, this is somewhere people live. Residents decide how their days run, come and go, have visitors when they want them and take part in running the household. We support people to keep up with work, study, friends and interests outside the house. Respite guests are welcome to visit beforehand so the place is familiar when they arrive. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to look round.
