About Windmill House
Windmill House is a residential care home in Wymondham. We care for older people who need support with daily living, including those living with dementia, those with a physical disability and those whose sight or hearing is impaired. We also support some younger adults. Our care is the practical, daily kind: help to wash and dress, medication given properly, meals cooked here, support to move about safely and staff available through the night. Around that, residents arrange their own time as they wish. For residents living with dementia we keep the rhythm of the day predictable and the staff around them consistent. Where sight or hearing is impaired we keep belongings exactly where they are expected, approach people so as not to startle them and check that we have been understood rather than assuming it. Where people need help to move, we take the time that doing it safely and comfortably actually requires. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places, which can give a family carer a genuine break or support somebody recovering after illness. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Norfolk are welcome to visit.
