About Homeleigh
Homeleigh is a residential care home in Manchester supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, adults living with mental health conditions and older people who need residential care. It is a home rather than a placement, and we run the household on that basis. Support is planned individually. It can include help with personal care, medication, cooking, laundry, managing money and getting to appointments, and it takes in the things that make a week worth having: friendships, going out, keeping up an interest, having plans of your own. A settled and predictable routine matters greatly to many of the people we support, as does communication pitched to suit the individual. Where somebody wants more independence, support is planned to draw back as their confidence grows. We support younger adults alongside older residents, and we take care not to assume that people want the same things simply because they live in one house. Respite stays are available too, giving family carers a real break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would sooner tell you that ourselves than leave you to find it elsewhere. The areas identified are where our attention is going at present. Please visit, meet the people who live here and ask us about it face to face.
