About An Darach House
An Darach House is a residential care home at North Scarle in Lincolnshire, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. Most of those living here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays. Being small and rural is the most important thing about us. It means the people who live here are genuinely known rather than nominally known, that staff notice a change in somebody's mood without needing it reported, and that the household can run around the people in it rather than the other way round. We would say honestly that a village setting suits some people very well and others less so, and it is worth visiting to see which. People arrange their own rooms, have a real say in the food and the shopping, and are involved in how the place runs. Where somebody can do something themselves, our job is to make that possible rather than to do it faster for them. Predictability is something we take particularly seriously, so we plan ahead and explain changes early rather than rearranging casually. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking relatives what we have stopped noticing.
