About Caythorpe Residential Home
We are a residential care home in Grantham providing a home for older people who need help to get comfortably through the day. We try hard to keep the feel of a house rather than an institution. People bring their own furniture and pictures, get up and go to bed when it suits them, and carry on with the things they have always enjoyed. We help with personal care, mobility, meals and medication, and we look after people living with dementia. What we have found works with dementia is nothing complicated: familiar staff, routines that do not keep changing, and enough time that nothing needs to be rushed. An unhurried day is usually a good day. Respite stays are available as well. Sometimes that gives a family carer a proper rest after a long stretch of managing at home, and sometimes it lets someone try the home for a short while before deciding about anything more permanent. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Keeping it depends on hearing about small problems while they are still small, so we ask residents and relatives often and we act on what they say. Do come and see us if you are looking at homes in this part of Lincolnshire. A look round and a cup of tea tells you more than any brochure.
