About Harrington House
Harrington House is a residential care home in Bourne, Lincolnshire. Those living here include older people, many living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We support younger adults too, and we offer respite stays. We try to get right the things residents actually mention: the temperature of the food, how long the bell takes, whether the person helping them seems rushed, and whether anybody has time to talk. How we talk with somebody, and how we let them know we are there, is agreed individually and followed. Everything else we do depends on it. For residents living with dementia we protect the routine and keep surroundings familiar, and we ask families for the history that makes a person make sense to us. Staff are expected to speak up if they think something is wrong, including about each other. A home where nobody raises concerns is not a safe one. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. We would rather say so openly. Anyone considering us should come without an appointment, talk to residents and relatives, and ask us whatever they want.
