About Honeysuckle Farm
We are Honeysuckle Farm, a residential care home at Newtown Unthank in Leicestershire. We support adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and people with a physical disability, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. A home for a small number of people means support can be genuinely individual rather than a compromise between too many competing needs. Staff here know everybody properly, including the things that never make it into a care plan, such as which sounds are intolerable on a difficult day and which subject will always improve one. Predictability does a great deal of the work. Saying what is going to happen and when, and then being right about it, is worth more than reassurance. Where a routine matters to somebody we protect it rather than asking them to be flexible for our convenience, and where the environment causes difficulty we change the environment. For people with a physical disability, the practical details are what count. Enough time that nothing is rushed, equipment set up as it should be, and asking the person how they prefer things done rather than assuming. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
