About Hunter's Lodge

Hunter's Lodge in Melton Mowbray provides residential care to older people and younger adults. Our residents include people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug misuse. The people who live with us have arrived by very different routes, and we have learned not to assume what anyone needs. We start by listening, we agree a plan with the person, and we revisit it as often as we need to. Independence is not a slogan here. If someone can manage their own routine, their own money, or come and go as they please, our job is to protect that rather than tidy it away. Day to day we keep the home comfortable and unhurried. People get up when they are ready, meals are cooked here and adapted to individual tastes, and support with personal care is given calmly and with dignity. For residents living with dementia we keep routines familiar and spend real time learning a person's history, because that is usually what settles someone who is anxious. We also offer respite stays. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
