About Holmes House Care Home

Holmes House Care Home is a residential home in Leicester. We support older people and some younger adults, and we offer both permanent places and respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. Most of our residents need help with washing and dressing, moving about safely, medication given properly and on time, and meals worth looking forward to, with somebody nearby through the night. A good number are living with dementia, and we let that shape the whole house rather than treating it as a separate wing. The day follows a recognisable pattern, familiar staff are around, people keep their own belongings and habits, and somebody who is anxious gets company and time rather than correction. We also support people living with mental ill health and people with physical disabilities. Food is cooked on the premises and, in a city as varied as Leicester, we ask about tastes and about dietary and religious requirements rather than assuming. There is somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet, and visitors do not need an appointment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to come and see us and talk to whoever is on duty.
