About Willowbank Rest Home
Willowbank Rest Home is a residential care home in Leyland, looking after older people from across this part of Lancashire. Some of the people living here have been near neighbours for most of their lives, and that local feeling matters to us. It means families can call in on the way home from work, and it means that moving in is rarely a move far from what someone already knows. We provide residential care for older people who need support with washing, dressing, medication and the ordinary business of getting through a day. A good number of the people we support are living with dementia, and we have learned that the most useful thing we can do is get to know the person properly before anything else. What time did they always get up? What did they do for a living? Which songs do they still sing along to? Once we know that, the care becomes far easier to get right. We also support people with physical disabilities and people living with loss of sight or hearing, adapting the way we communicate and the way the home is arranged so that nobody is left out of what is going on. Short respite stays are available too, which families often use when a carer at home needs a rest, or when someone is building their strength back up after a spell in hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are always glad to show visitors round, so please do get in touch.
