About Jah-Jireh Charity Homes
Our care home in Leyland provides residential care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. We aim for a home where people are known properly. That takes staff who stay long enough to learn somebody's history and habits, and care that is planned with the person rather than written about them. Help is given with washing and dressing, with transfers and moving safely, with medication and with eating and drinking well, and it is given at the pace of the person rather than the pace of the rota. For those living with dementia we keep the day predictable and the surroundings familiar, and we adjust how we communicate rather than expecting somebody to adjust to us. Where sight or hearing has declined, consistent small adjustments make a large difference, so we make sure the whole team works in the same way. The home is somewhere people live. Rooms are personalised, meals are cooked here, there is company for those who want it and quiet for those who do not, and visitors are welcome. Respite and short stays can be arranged. If you would like to look round, please telephone us and we will arrange a time.
