About St Ann's Lodge 1
St Ann's Lodge is a residential care home in New Malden in the London borough of Kingston upon Thames. We support older people and younger adults, including adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and people recovering from an eating disorder. Respite stays are available. The people living here have genuinely little in common in terms of what they need, so we plan support one person at a time and mean it. What gives an adult with a learning disability confidence is not what helps somebody working their way back from an eating disorder, and running one routine across both would suit neither. So we spend our attention on particulars: how somebody likes to be addressed, what they can do themselves and would rather we left alone, what makes a difficult day and what heads it off early. Where the work is sensitive we go carefully and without judgement, because recovery rarely runs in a straight line and being steady on the difficult weeks is most of what we are for. Where sight or hearing loss is in the picture, habits matter more than equipment: saying who you are as you come into a room, leaving furniture where it belongs, checking that glasses and hearing aids are working. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection.
