About Place Residential Care Home

Westerham Place Residential Care Home is a care home for older people in Westerham, caring for residents from across this part of Kent and the surrounding villages. We offer permanent residential places and planned respite stays. We are not a large home and we would not want to be. What we aim for is a household where people know one another, where staff have time to sit and talk and where the shape of the day comes from the people living in it rather than from a timetable on a wall. Our support covers personal care, medication, meals, mobility and the steady companionship that matters most to people who have found living alone lonely or worrying. Residents decide how much company they want. Some are in the lounge from breakfast until bedtime, others prefer their own room with visitors and a quiet word now and then, and both are entirely fine here. Preferences about food, bedtimes and privacy are treated as decisions rather than requests, and residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and pictures. Respite stays give family carers a genuine rest and give guests a real welcome into the life of the house rather than a spare bed. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. You are welcome to visit, stay for a cup of tea and see us on an ordinary day.
