About Rose House
We are Rose House, a residential care home in Sittingbourne, Kent. We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, and people living with mental health conditions, including younger adults. Respite stays are available. This is a home first. The people who live here decide how their week runs, what is cooked, how the place looks and how much company they want on any given day. Our job is to make those choices real, which sometimes means practical help with personal care, medication or cooking, and sometimes means standing back while somebody does something slowly for themselves. We plan around individuals rather than around a routine. Some of the people here want a busy week with college, work, sport or regular groups. Others want a quiet and highly predictable rhythm, and where change is unsettling we keep things steady and prepare carefully for anything unusual. Both are perfectly reasonable ways to live. We also take positive risk seriously. Being overcautious on somebody else's behalf is easier for us and much worse for them, so decisions get talked through with the person and the people who know them well. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are used to detailed questions from families and commissioners and we welcome them. Please contact us if you would like to look round.
