About Beechcare

Beechcare is a residential care home in New Romney, Kent, supporting adults with a learning disability, adults who are autistic and people with a physical disability. We also offer respite stays. We are a small setting and we like it that way. People here are not part of a crowd. They are individuals with their own routines, interests and ways of communicating, and our team is expected to learn those properly. For some of the people we support, communication is not through speech, so we pay close attention to gesture, expression and behaviour, and we take the time to get it right rather than guess. Our aim is an ordinary life with the support that makes it possible. That means having a say over your own day, getting out into New Romney and along the coast, keeping in touch with family, choosing your own food and having your own space respected. It also means good practical care, given discreetly, for anyone who needs help with mobility or with personal care. Respite stays are planned carefully, because a short stay in an unfamiliar place can be unsettling. We prefer a visit or two beforehand so that nobody arrives among strangers. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to see the home and meet the team, please arrange a visit and take your time over the decision.
