About Seymour House
Seymour House is a residential care home in Herne Bay, Kent, supporting adults living with a learning disability or autism, and we also offer respite stays for people who usually live at home with family. We think of this as somewhere people live rather than somewhere they are placed. Residents have their own rooms and belongings, a real say in how the house is run, and support with whatever they find harder, whether that is personal care, communication, medication, managing money or getting out and about. Safe
Inspectors found that risks to people had been assessed. Staff had detailed guidance to follow to reduce these risks.
Effective
Staff received training and supervision to improve their practice. Inspectors found that staff knew people well and how to communicate with them. Staff supported people to be as independent as possible and to learn new skills.
Caring
Inspectors found that staff respected people's decisions about their care. Staff supported people to live their lives to the full. People indicated that they were comfortable in the company of staff.
Responsive
Inspectors found that people received person centred care. People were supported to take part in activities they enjoyed. Staff continued to support people to develop links with the community.
Well-led
Inspectors found an effective system to monitor the quality of the support provided. Information from audits, accidents and incidents was used to make improvements in the service.
