About Manor Care Home
Edenbridge Manor is a residential care home in Edenbridge. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. We try to keep this feeling like somewhere people live rather than somewhere they have been placed. People bring their own furniture and pictures, keep their own routines as far as they are able, and decide for themselves whether to join in with what is going on. There is company for those who want it and quiet for those who do not. Dementia and sensory loss both call for patience. We check that hearing aids and glasses are working and being used, we keep rooms well lit and free of clutter, we sit where a person can see our face, and we give people the time to answer rather than filling the silence. Where words become difficult, knowing a person's history is what carries us through, and families are the best source of that. We work closely with GPs, district nurses and community teams across Kent, and we keep relatives properly informed rather than ringing only when there is a problem. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering residential care or respite in Edenbridge, please come and visit at an ordinary time of day and see how the home feels.
