About The Grange - Benenden
The Grange at Benenden is a residential care home near Cranbrook, Kent. We support older people who need help through the day and adults with a learning disability, including autistic adults. Some of the people living with us are younger adults, and respite stays are available alongside permanent places. That mix shapes how we run the house. There is no single timetable everybody follows. Some of the people here go out to college, work or a club during the week and come back with plenty to say about it. Others prefer the quiet of their own room and the garden, and that is an equally reasonable way to spend a day. We work out what each person's day ought to look like and then make the house fit around it rather than the other way round. Being in the Kentish countryside is worth something real. There is outdoor space that gets used, quiet for anyone who needs it, and staff who tend to be local and tend to stay. Support plans are agreed with the person and written so the person can read them, and when something is not working we change it rather than defending it. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Come and visit and talk to the people who live here.
