About Alvina Lodge
Alvina Lodge is a residential care home in Hayes. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with mental ill health and people whose difficulties involve the use of alcohol or drugs, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. A good many of the people who come to us have had a difficult run, whether through illness, a hospital admission or a period when living independently simply stopped working. What we try to provide is somewhere steady and unjudgemental where a person can get their footing back. Routine where routine helps, flexibility where it does not, and staff who are comfortable with the fact that recovery rarely runs in a straight line. People have their own rooms and a real say in how their day goes. We help with medication, with health appointments, with eating properly and with the practical business of money, paperwork and keeping in touch with family. We work alongside community mental health teams, GPs and specialist support rather than in parallel with them, and we plan with the person for the times when things get hard. Nobody here is written off for having a setback. What matters is that somebody is safe, treated with respect and supported to take the next step when they are ready. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and see us and ask whatever you need to ask.
