About Cherry Tree Close
We are a residential home in Stroud supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including older people who need help with daily living. The house is run as a household rather than an institution. People living here have their own rooms and their own belongings and take part in deciding how the place works, from what is cooked to what happens at the weekend. For adults who have often had decisions made on their behalf, that ordinary degree of control is much of the point. Support is arranged around each person and what they want to be able to do, whether that is work, college, volunteering, getting out regularly, keeping up with family, managing money with a hand from staff or doing more around the house for themselves. Where people have grown older here, needs change and we change with them, adding help with personal care, health appointments and mobility while keeping as much of the person's own routine and independence as we can. Predictability counts for a great deal, so we keep staffing as consistent as possible and try not to alter arrangements without warning and explanation. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place for yourself or someone in your family, please come and visit. We will be honest about whether we can support the needs you describe.
