About Marshview
We are a residential care home in Hailsham, providing a home for older people who need some help to get comfortably through the day. We try hard to keep the feel of a house rather than an institution. People bring their own furniture and pictures, get up and go to bed when it suits them, and carry on with the things they have always enjoyed. We help with personal care, mobility, meals and medication, and we try to keep the focus on what somebody can still do for themselves rather than on what has become harder. A good deal of what makes a home work well is unremarkable: staff who are the same from week to week, meals people actually look forward to, and enough time that nothing has to be rushed. Respite stays are available as well. A planned break can be what allows a family carer to keep going, and a short stay is also a gentle way of finding out whether a care home is the right step before anyone commits to it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would much rather a resident or relative raised a concern while it was still small, so we ask often and we act on what we hear. Please do come and visit, look round and meet the people who live and work here.
