About St Marguerite
St Marguerite is a residential care home in Eastbourne. We support older people who need help with daily living, and we take respite bookings for families needing a short break or for someone who needs a period of extra support after illness or a stay in hospital. We aim to feel like a house rather than an institution. People rise when they wake, keep their own furniture and photographs around them, choose how the day is spent and are not hurried through the parts that take longer than they once did. Mealtimes are meant to be enjoyed rather than got through, and visitors are welcome throughout the day without arranging it first. Being by the sea is part of the appeal for a good many of our residents, and we make use of it. Getting out, even briefly, does more for most people than anything that happens indoors. When a person's needs are changing we say so early and talk it through with the family rather than arriving with a decision already taken. We would much rather have that conversation while there is still time to think it over properly. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are considering residential or respite care in Eastbourne, please arrange to come and look round. Visiting tells you far more than any description can.
