Safe
Inspectors found that staffing arrangements meant people's needs were responded to in a timely way. Staff were recruited safely and knew how to respond to any suspicion or allegation of abuse or discrimination. Medicines were stored, given and disposed of safely, risks were assessed, and the home was clean and well maintained.
Effective
Inspectors found that all staff completed essential training and were supported to develop new skills. People's dietary needs were assessed, and food met their needs and preferences. People had access to healthcare professionals such as their GP when they needed it.
Caring
Inspectors found that staff knew and understood the people they looked after. Staff treated people with kindness and compassion and supported them to keep their independence. People's dignity was protected and staff were respectful.
Responsive
Inspectors found that people could take part in a variety of activities, which took account of their preferences, choices and interests. Visitors were welcomed, and staff supported them to enjoy their visits.
Well-led
Inspectors found that quality systems were not fully developed and did not support the management of the service. Care records were not accurate and did not reflect the care and support people received. Some policies and procedures needed updating to reflect best practice. Inspectors also found that the registered manager was open and transparent, and that staff felt well supported and valued.
