About Bluebell Residential Home

We are Bluebell Residential Home in Hessle, East Riding of Yorkshire. We are a residential care home for older people, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss, and we also offer respite stays. We aim for a home that feels settled and familiar rather than busy and institutional. People get up when they wake, eat food they actually like, sit where they choose and spend their days as they wish. Rooms belong to the people living in them, and we encourage families to bring in furniture, photographs and the small things that make a space feel like somebody's own. Sight and hearing loss can be quietly isolating, particularly alongside dementia, so we pay attention to lighting, noise, clear signage and taking the time to speak with people properly rather than around them. Small adjustments of that kind make a great deal of difference to whether somebody can take part in their own day. Families are welcome throughout the day and we would rather relatives dropped in casually than felt they were visiting formally. We ask for views regularly and act on what we are told. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep checking ourselves against it rather than assuming it holds. If you are looking at care in the Hessle area, please come and see us on an ordinary day.
