About White Rose Lodge
White Rose Lodge is a residential care home in Bridlington supporting older people, including many living with dementia, and we welcome respite guests. We want this to feel like a house people live in. Mornings are flexible. Meals are proper meals. Residents sit where they like, do what they like and keep the habits they have had for years wherever it is possible for us to work around them. Staff learn people's histories, and in a seaside town with long memories there is usually a great deal of history to learn. Dementia care takes up much of our attention and we approach it without hurry. We keep the day predictable, the environment calm and the staff familiar. We go with the person rather than correcting them, and when someone is distressed we look for the cause rather than treating the distress as the problem. Families are often the best source of what works, so we ask them and we listen. Respite stays are genuinely welcome. A planned break is often what keeps a family carer going, and the person staying gets company, good food and proper care in the meantime. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. If you are considering a home in this part of the East Riding, please come and see us on an ordinary day.
